Gunaikurnai/Gippsland based urban-pop-folk rock duo Ally Row have just released their toe-tapping and catchy new single ‘I Got Mine’.
The track celebrates each individual’s personal struggle, with the hook “you’ve got your shit and I’ve got mine”.

Deceptively, ‘I Got Mine’ shows all the hallmarks of a light hearted and uplifting folk tune, however at its core this track exudes heavy and poignant lyricism.
The Triple J Unearthed winners dive into their own experiences of mental health, living under the poverty line and recovering from personal loss.
The single’s husky vocals, playful banjo and buoyant instrumentation, creates a positive and safe atmosphere for the listener.

“We wrote this while spending a night in a tiny house in east Gippsland after a gig. It’s a warm reminder to practice empathy because we tend to compare ourselves to others who seem to have it better than us….but you never know what other people are going through.”

Reminiscent of the mid 2000s classics such as ‘Home’ by Edward Shape and The Magnetic Zeros, ‘Haven’t met you yet’ by Michael Buble and Lenka’s ‘The Show’, Ally Row’s ‘I Got Mine’ is a bold and vibrant folky track that pairs perfectly with road trips, an Aperol Spritz and late night hangs with friends.
